The Museum is closed on Christmas (December 24 th and 25 th) and New Year (December 31 st and January 1st)

Policy for Gratuities

  • the public in general on Thursdays and Saturdays; 
  • people over 60 years old of age, upon presentation of an ID; 
  • children under the age of 10 years old, upon presentation of an ID; 
  • person with disabilities and his/her carer; 
  • teachers of public schools (municipal, state and federal), upon presentation of an ID and pay slip; 
  • public elementary and high school students, upon presentation of a confirmation document; 
  • ICOM members, upon presentation of the organization’s membership card and a personal ID; 
  • Tour Guides, upon presentation of a confirmation document; 
  • Employees of the Social Organizations that manage museums and cultural programs of São Paulo, upon presentation of an ID; 
  • public servants of São Paulo State Secretariat of Culture, upon presentation of  civil service card; 
  • police officers of different departments and their families, upon  presentation of the last pay slip and an ID; 
  • “Museum Passport” holders (1 visit valid) that use the same passport up to its expiration date.


SEARCH

Located in Ibirapuera Park in São Paulo, and opened on October 23, 2004, Afro Brasil Museum was born under the initiative of artist and curator Emanoel Araujo who donated his private collection.

The museum is opened from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm extending until 6pm. On the last Tuesday of each month, the museum is opened until 9pm.


The museum is open all year, except on:

  • December 24th and 25th
  • December 31st
  • January 1st
