Afro Brasil Museum  its building and collection are public assets under the responsability of Afro Brasil Museum Association (Associação Museu Afro Brasil).
Therefore, there are some Visiting Tips and Policies that should be considered.

Located in Ibirapuera Park in São Paulo, and opened on October 23, 2004, Afro Brasil Museum was born under the initiative of the artist and curator Emanoel Araujo who donated his private collection.

The museum is opened from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm extending until 6pm. On the last Tuesday of each month, the museum is opened until 9pm.


The museum is open all year, except on:

  • December 24th and 25th
  • December 31st
  • January 1st
